Reaper Actual, a new large-scale multiplayer shooter from Distinct Possibility Studios, will launch its Foundation Alpha on October 8, 2025. The game combines tactical first-person combat with persistent world mechanics and optional blockchain integration through Etherlink, a layer built on the Tezos blockchain.
A Persistent Open-World Shooter
Set on the war-torn island of Marova, Reaper Actual is designed as a “persistent FPS,” meaning the world continues to evolve even when players are offline. Bases can be raided, territories can shift between factions, and missions will dynamically update as AI-controlled groups move across the map.
The developers describe it as a blend of real-time tactical shooting and evolving survival strategy, where the environment and economy continue to function without direct player intervention.
Foundation Alpha Begins
The Foundation Alpha phase opens on October 8 at 12:00 PM EST / 4:00 PM UTC, allowing early supporters to enter Marova through Foundation Bundles. These bundles grant early access, in-game assets, and participation in feedback sessions with the development team. Each bundle includes at least one base (such as a bunker), one or more Reapers with custom loadouts, and access to future testing phases. Higher-tier bundles offer expanded perks, such as multiple bases, rare characters, and exclusive in-game rewards.
Optional Web3 Integration
Reaper Actual offers a dual experience: players can engage purely through traditional gameplay or enable blockchain-based ownership and trading via the Tezos-powered Etherlink network. The Web3 features are entirely optional and separate from the main game’s progression, ensuring that players who prefer a standard experience are not affected. This structure allows users who choose to engage with blockchain to trade or own assets such as weapons, bases, and cosmetics while maintaining fair, balanced gameplay for everyone.
Community and Developer Collaboration
The development team encourages early participants to test gameplay, report bugs, and shape future updates. During the Foundation Alpha, player feedback will influence mechanics, balance the economy, and refine world progression systems. Distinct Possibility Studios CEO John Smedley noted that this phase marks the beginning of a long-term collaboration between developers and players. The studio aims to refine both the technical performance and the social structure of Reaper Actual before the broader launch.

A New Approach to Web3 FPS Games
By combining persistent world design with optional blockchain systems, Reaper Actual stands apart from typical multiplayer shooters. Its model allows traditional gamers and Web3 users to share the same world without friction. The Foundation Alpha on October 8 represents the first major step toward building this shared ecosystem—one where players’ choices and actions continue to shape the world long after they log off.
