## Verdict

RuneHero is a web3 massively multiplayer action RPG set in Herud, a world built around rune magic. In practice it plays as a dungeon crawler: you pick a hero class, run dungeons and bosses, and collect Runes that reshape a skill tree. A multi-class roster covers burst damage, sustained DPS and survivability, with a healer-damage hybrid added during beta. The more distinctive piece is Outland, a PvEvP zone where you hunt monsters and mine rare Aetherite while other players hunt you, and where loot only counts if you extract alive. Ranked Arenas, clans and battlefields sit alongside that extraction pressure. The economy is seasonal. Each season starts with a base prize pool from the team, all in-game purchase revenue that season is added to it, and 80% is paid out at the end while 20% seeds the next season. NFTs are optional: Arcane Crystals add daily Energy and can be rented, but you can

## FAQ

**How do I start playing RuneHero?**

Download the PC client from RuneHero's itch.io page, which the official whitepaper links, and join the current test season. Testing has gone through a pre-alpha, an alpha, the first closed beta (CBT1) in May 2025 and the Season 0 pre-test, followed by the second closed beta, CBT2.

**Do I need a crypto wallet or an NFT to play?**

You can play without owning any NFT, but you need to link a wallet to receive on-chain rewards, since at season end the team scans your in-game backpack and sends the matching assets to that wallet. Holding an xRune Genesis NFT is optional and grants perks such as early entry to new content, extra inventory slots and reduced marketplace fees.

**How do rewards and Energy work in RuneHero?**

In the test seasons, play earned Soul Shards that converted into Season Gems, and each player's share of all Season Gems set their share of the USDT prize pool. Dungeons, Outland and life skills cost Energy, which every player recovers daily. An equipped Arcane Crystal NFT adds more Energy, and only one Crystal can be equipped at a time.

**Are there other ways to make money in RuneHero?**

Life Skills let you gather, craft and trade resources through specialised professions and sell the goods on the player-driven marketplace. Test seasons have also carried cash pools: CBT1 offered a $20,000 base prize pool plus 60% of all player spending, paid out to the top Arena leaderboard players.

**Is RuneHero still active and worth playing right now?**

Yes, it is in active development. After Season 0 comes CBT2, a two-week season with a 2,000 USDT base prize pool, then open beta testing on the roadmap, and the game has integrated with the Sei ecosystem. These are data-wipe test phases, so character progress from a closed beta is erased when the test ends.
