Vulcan Champions is a creature-raising game from Vulcan Forged, played in the browser on the VulcanX platform and paid for in PYR on the studio's own Elysium chain. You adopt a baby champion from one of eight species, feed it trait potions that each add 15 to a stat, kit it out in five gear slots and send it on timed adventures that fill an Evolution Bar. Twenty life stages lead to Legendary at level 50. The raising loop is the best part. Potions are locked to a species, evolving needs the right level, a full bar and an Evolution Potion, and a bond meter and mood mechanics give the pet some personality. Around it sit an asynchronous arena with stances, abilities and an ELO ladder, a five-chapter PvE campaign whose bosses drop chests, and weekly and all-time leaderboards. Open champions.vulcan-x.io in a browser and sign in with MetaMask or WalletConnect; the wallet switches to Elysium (chain ID 1339) automatically. You adopt and name a baby champion and receive a free starter pack of potions.

**How does a champion grow?**

You feed it trait potions, each adding 15 to one of six stats, equip it in five gear slots and send it on adventures of 15 minutes to four hours that fill the Evolution Bar. Evolving needs the stage's required level, a full bar and an Evolution Potion, across 20 life stages to Legendary at level 50.

**Do I need to buy NFTs to play?**

No NFTs are needed, but play costs PYR: adoption is 20 PYR, trait potions 3 PYR, Evolution Potions and Blessings 8 PYR and a full energy recharge 10 PYR. In the current QA build champions and potions are stored in a database; at launch champions become ERC-721 tokens and potions ERC-1155 tokens.

PYR is Vulcan Forged's token, used for marketplace settlement, staking and play-to-earn rewards across its games, and it is the gas token of the studio's Elysium chain.
