Moonfrost, a farming RPG from the Open Loot network that interlaces narrative elements with agricultural and crafting gameplay, is temporarily lifting its early access restrictions. Previously, access was limited to holders of a Gnome Key or a Frost Hunter License NFT.
Dahlia Derby Event Overview
From October 22 until November 3, players are invited to participate in The Dahlia Derby, a Halloween-themed event. During this period, participants can explore a new Cemetery map, which becomes accessible after completing specific quests in the game. Players collect Dahlia Flowers to compete on an event leaderboard, aiming to win a piece of a $1000 USDC prize pool, among other rewards.

The event also introduces tools of varying rarities that enhance players’ abilities to gather resources. Items such as FROST Tools increase the efficiency of collecting Dahlia Flowers—a crucial activity to climb the leaderboard standings. Enhanced drop rates from specially themed gnomes also add to the competitive spirit of the Derby.
Game Enhancements and Future Prospects
Since its initial early access launch on July 16 through the Open Loot Launcher, Moonfrost has seen various updates. The development team has rolled out new features, including an expanded map, additional player character options, and new questlines involving village restoration and order deliveries. Moonfrost also incorporates a Web3 layer powered by Open Loot, introducing an in-game play-to-earn economy that will eventually use the $FROST token.
Although no concrete release date has been set for the free-to-play version compatible with both web2 and web3 platforms, plans are in place for it to appear on the Epic Games Store. A mobile variant is also under development and is expected to follow the PC release.
The Dahlia Derby marks a significant opportunity for new players to explore Moonfrost and its array of activities, including fishing, mining, and woodcutting, using themed tools that enhance the gaming experience. As the event proceeds, participants will not only enjoy seasonal fun but also contribute to the evolving landscape of this enchanting RPG world.
