In Brief:
- Ragnarok Online Landverse Global, the BNB Chain version of the MMO, will permanently close its servers on June 1, 2026.
- The game’s top-up system goes offline April 1, cutting off all moonstone purchases.
- The Ronin-based Ragnarok Landverse: Genesis remains operational and is not part of the shutdown.
Ragnarok Online Landverse Global is shutting down. The team announced the end of service in a Discord post, setting a June 1, 2026 deadline for permanent server closure.
The wind-down starts tomorrow. On April 1, the game’s top-up system will be discontinued, meaning players can no longer purchase or top up moonstone. Servers stay live for another two months after that, then go dark for good.
Ronin version stays live
The closure applies only to the BNB Chain version of the game, developed by Gravity in partnership with Maxion. A separate Ronin-based title, Ragnarok Landverse: Genesis, is unaffected.
Jihoz, co-founder of Ronin, addressed potential confusion on X. “Landverse is the original Ragnarok web3 server on BNB chain. That’s being shut down,” he wrote. “The Ronin servers are thriving and unaffected, actually a good sign for Ronin that the team will be able to focus more on the Ronin side of things!”
Jihoz added that ROL Genesis “continues to put up great numbers” with its community concentrated mainly on Facebook, where he said most web2 gamers in Southeast Asia are active rather than on X.
No asset migration mentioned
The shutdown announcement made no reference to token migration, asset transfers, or refund plans for existing players. It offered thanks to the community but gave no explanation for the closure.
“It was a privilege to accompany you,” the Ragnarok Online Landverse Global team wrote.
