Polygon Labs, in collaboration with Immutable, has unveiled a groundbreaking initiative titled “Gaming on Polygon” within the Immutable Play platform. This launch represents a significant milestone as it is the first enterprise deal of its kind on Immutable’s gaming platform, simultaneously releasing 5 web3 games. This hub is strategically equipped with new tools and player incentives, centered around a major network upgrade linking Immutable zkEVM with Polygon’s Agglayer.
At the heart of this new hub, players will encounter 5 novel games, each designed with embedded quests and a competitive leaderboard system to maintain player activity and fuel competition. Adding to the allure, Immutable introduces a reward pool of $100,000 distributed among players who engage in these quests and achieve various in-game milestones or secure competitive placements.
Immutable has historically integrated games into its platform one at a time over the past 7 years, incorporating over 680 games. This collective launch marks a strategic pivot, promoting a swifter onboarding process and broadening the approach towards ecosystem-wide deals. Robbie Ferguson, Co-founder and President of Immutable, highlighted this shift, stating, “This launch signals the next chapter for Immutable Play. By working with Polygon to bring entire ecosystems of games to Play at once, we’re accelerating the growth of web3 gaming and delivering more value to players than ever before.”
The upcoming integration of Immutable zkEVM with Polygon’s Agglayer forms a critical part of this initiative, aimed at unifying liquidity across the expanded Polygon ecosystem. Marc Boiron, CEO of Polygon Labs, emphasized the benefits of this integration, remarking, “Immutable zkEVM set to join the Agglayer highlights the strength of our long-standing partnership and marks an important step forward for the broader gaming industry. The Agglayer provides unified liquidity and seamless interoperability, giving developers and players confidence that their games and assets can thrive at scale.”
With the new hub now operational, players can look forward to diving into the 5 new games and engaging with the various quests and competitions. The approach not only promises a richer gaming experience but also provides developers easy access to a robust set of tools necessary for creating scalable, player-friendly games.
