In Brief:
- Startale App is now fully open to the public, ending its invite-only phase.
- Users can manage assets, earn rewards, and access 11 new Mini Apps without prior crypto knowledge.
- The Soneium Ethereum L2 network has processed over 500 million transactions and maintains more than 5.1 million wallets.
Startale App launches for everyone
The Startale App has transitioned from an invite-only platform to full public access. Developed by Startale Group in collaboration with Sony Block Solutions Labs, the app runs on the Soneium Ethereum Layer 2, requiring no registration codes or queues.
Closed beta testing involved thousands of users, whose feedback shaped the final product. The launch marks the realization of Startale’s vision for a SuperApp, which serves as a unified hub for the Soneium ecosystem.
User-friendly features
The platform allows users to manage assets, earn STAR Points through missions, and access Mini Apps. Wallet creation takes seconds using just an email address, with Account Abstraction eliminating gas fees and seed phrase requirements. Transactions occur in the background, simplifying the onboarding process while maintaining self-custody.
STAR Points, the native reward currency, can be earned via daily missions and interactions. They connect users to future rewards and events within the ecosystem, enhancing user engagement.
New Mini Apps available
The open launch includes 11 new Mini Apps, featuring titles such as AOGuardians, BurrowBash, and Cool Cats. These games are embedded within the Startale App, allowing for immediate player engagement without external redirects. Developers benefit from a built-in user base and rewards for deploying apps within the ecosystem.
Soneium supports over 260 projects, with more Mini Apps in development, providing a pathway for new teams to access users effectively.
Strong backing and infrastructure
Startale Group, based in Japan, has raised over $70 million, including a recent $13 million investment from Sony Ventures and Sony Innovation Fund. Soneium aims to facilitate entertainment and gaming experiences, combining Ethereum’s security with low fees and high throughput.
The platform has recently integrated with Kyo Finance for token swaps, allowing users to exchange various assets directly within the app, streamlining financial interactions.
Sony’s commitment to blockchain gaming
The Startale App signifies Sony’s strategic move into blockchain gaming. Each new Mini App gains access to a large audience and the STAR Points system, giving titles an advantageous start.
Previous loyalty campaigns have shown active user engagement, establishing the app as a utility for asset management, gaming, and rewards.
Startale CEO Sota Watanabe emphasized the app’s aim to make Web3 more accessible, calling it “intuitive as opening any mainstream app.” With public access live and Mini Apps launched, this vision is now actionable.
