Shatterpoint is set to launch Season 2 on December 10, running until January 5. This season introduces significant updates, including revamped maps and an improved matchmaking system. The new season also offers players the opportunity to earn Sparks from each victory, even against AI opponents. One of the major additions is the Regalia map, designed to foster quicker, more engaging PvP battles due to its compact pathways and numerous choke points.
Alongside gameplay improvements, the reward system has seen enhancements too. The Kaito leaderboard pool offers a substantial incentive, with 2 million $POINT tokens up for grabs for top-ranking players. The system has been adjusted to reward consistent play, allowing players to accumulate points through regular wins and active participation.

Evolving Tokenomics and Rewards
Looking ahead, Season 3 is slated to commence in the first quarter of 2026, shortly followed by the token generation event (TGE). This event will convert earned Sparks into $POINT tokens, which are immediately usable and fully unlocked. The first three seasons of Shatterpoint contribute to 6% of the total token supply, with the initial circulation at TGE kept under 10%, inclusive of tokens allocated for liquidity on the Base platform.
Once TGE occurs, the method of earning within the game shifts; players will directly earn $POINT tokens through gameplay rather than collecting Sparks. Shatterpoint’s development team has emphasized that no additional tokens will be minted post-TGE, and all tokens were allocated through gameplay, upholding a fair launch approach. Revenue to fund ongoing development will derive from in-game purchases and NFT sales.
Platform Transition and Further Developments
Earlier in its lifecycle, Shatterpoint had launched Season 1 through Open Loot but moved away following unforeseen changes in platform support. Transitioning to the Base network was pivotal, enabling the developers to maintain the operational integrity of in-game assets like NFTs and Sparks. This switch not only preserved continuity but also reinstated full developmental control to the Shatterpoint team.
NFT Utilization and Gameplay
To maximize earnings within Shatterpoint, players utilize charged Crystals—NFTs that can be fortified using another in-game asset, Dust. These NFTs come in various forms, such as Utility NFTs which include Crystals, and Equipment NFTs which can be dismantled for crafting materials. Cosmetic NFTs, while visually appealing, provide minor bonuses and do not impact competitive matchmaking.
The matchmaking system itself is designed to offer a balanced competitive environment, ensuring that players are matched according to their gear power rather than their time or financial investment in the game. This structure helps maintain a level playing field and enhances the overall gaming experience.
