Gold Fest launches with $500,000 prize pool
GAMEE has kicked off Gold Fest, a significant gaming event offering $500,000 in gold-backed tokens to participants within its Telegram platform. This marks the largest prize pool ever for Telegram-based gaming.
In an effort to engage more players, Gold Fest replaces traditional competitive formats with a model that rewards all active participants. Rather than relying solely on top leaderboard rankings, every player earns a share of the total prize based on their in-app activity.
How rewards are distributed
Players accumulate Energy by engaging with various games, completing quests, and inviting friends. This Energy contributes to their standing within the Prize Board, where landing on specific tiles can yield additional Energy or Gold Points. At the end of the Gold Fest, total Gold Points determine each player’s proportion of the prize pool, which is converted into gold-backed tokens sent to their TON wallets.
The experience is built directly into the GAMEE Telegram mini-app, requiring no additional downloads or complex setups.
Support from notable partners
Gold Fest receives official backing from the TON Foundation, with sponsorship from Flashy Gold and nGRND. Distribution of the rewards is facilitated through the Flashy app, where players will receive their gold-backed tokens after the event concludes.
nGRND employs a tokenized model that connects participants with in-ground gold reserves and ESG-based climate rewards. Their approach brings untouched gold reserves on-chain, highlighting a broader initiative toward sustainable asset-backed digital economies.
Game-changing approach to rewards
Martin Zakovec, CEO of GAMEE, shared insights on the event’s design: “Gold Fest is about taking something whose value everyone already understands, namely gold, and making it accessible in a completely new way. Rather than a small number of winners, we’ve built a system where everyone who participates earns a share. It’s simple, transparent, and designed for how people actually play our games on Telegram.”
Michael Gord, CEO of Flashy, noted the implications for the real-world asset sector, declaring, “Gold Fest marks a turning point, where real-world assets begin powering digital experiences at scale.”
GAMEE’s extensive reach
Operating on Telegram for over a decade, GAMEE boasts a vast gaming presence with over 75 million users and more than 9.2 billion gameplay instances recorded. Monthly gameplay on the platform exceeds 200 million.
As a subsidiary of Animoca Brands, GAMEE is part of a large web3 gaming investment portfolio. Its utility token, GMEE, launched in March 2021, supports various functions on the platform, from tournament fees to governance participation.
Past events, including the inaugural Arc8 GameFest, featured prizes totaling $120,000. Gold Fest far exceeds that figure and broadens participation from NFT-pass holders to all players.
Accessing GAMEE and future potential
The GAMEE platform includes over 80 casual titles available directly through Telegram. Its Web3 layer focuses on Arc8, a virtual arcade for skill-based competitions and earning GMEE tokens. Collaborations with recognized brands reflect GAMEE’s strategy to connect mainstream audiences with blockchain ownership.
The platform’s NFT characters, Beasties, enhance earning potential during events like Gold Fest. With the event live now at t.me/gamee/start, participants can engage in this unprecedented distribution of rewards.
