You play a Ranger stranded on an alien planet, travelling out from a central hub called Sanctum Mesa through teleport structures known as Obelisks to reach regions with their own terrain and resource mixes. The loop is gather, capture, craft: mine shards, ore and consumables, use a drone companion to locate rarer materials, then spend Cured Shards to capture Illuvials — creature collectibles sorted by Tier and Stage, with elemental Affinities like Fire, Water and Air and combat Classes such as Fighter or Rogue.
