The premise puts humanity among the stars, with players acting as explorers, scientists or warriors chasing artifacts and resources on behalf of whichever faction they join. Four loops are meant to interlock: exploring generated worlds, tactical combat against creatures and rival factions, resource gathering that feeds crafting and base upgrades, and a marketplace where those materials and collectibles change hands.

The most interesting idea here is the faction layer. Rather than treating territory as static, planets and their resources are the objects of large-scale competition between groups, which gives the trading and alliance systems something to actually be about.
