Nomstead
What is Nomstead?
Nomstead is a multiplayer building game built on the Immutable X blockchain. Players create personalized virtual settlements where they cultivate land, construct unique structures, and engage in a player-driven economy. The game prioritizes creative freedom and customization over rigid progression, allowing each player to shape their own experience within a shared world.
How to Play Nomstead
The core gameplay loop revolves around tending your land, collecting resources, and crafting tools to improve your settlement. Players construct buildings and structures tailored to their vision, then customize their surroundings to reflect their style. A key feature is the multiplayer trading system, where players exchange resources and items with one another. This creates an interdependent community economy where different players can specialize in various activities—some focusing on resource production, others on crafting or trading—allowing cooperation to drive collective progress.
Nomstead's Blockchain Foundation
Running on Immutable X, Nomstead uses blockchain technology to provide verifiable ownership of land and in-game assets as NFTs. This enables players to confidently buy, sell, and transfer their holdings, with ownership secured by on-chain verification. The Immutable X infrastructure is designed to minimize transaction costs while maintaining security.

Our verdict on Nomstead
Nomstead is a tile-based, pixel-art sandbox that behaves less like an MMORPG and more like a shared settlement sim: you claim land tiles, gather resources, craft, build and decorate, and trade with the people on the plots around you. It launched into early access on desktop and mobile after rebranding from an earlier project called Kingdom, and it onboards through Immutable Passport, so wallet setup is largely handled for you rather than being a hurdle at the door.
What works is the low friction. The loop is legible within minutes, the art is warm and readable at small sizes, and the economy is gold-denominated and player-facing, which gives specialisation — farmer, crafter, trader — a real reason to exist. Later additions such as arena-style PvP land, with results settled on-chain, hint at more structure than a pure builder offers.
What does not work yet is depth and permanence. This is still alpha-stage software: progression is loose, content arrives in patches, and the NFT layer — Genesis chests, ownable land — asks for commitment before the game has proven it will hold your attention.
It suits patient builders and traders who enjoy an unfinished world. Players wanting combat, story or polish should wait.
