Space Mavericks

Space Mavericks is a Polygon-based multiplayer space game built around NFT strategy: mining resources, building and upgrading ships, trading with other players, and fighting for territory. Asset ownership and trade records sit on-chain, which is the whole point of the design — your ships and rare items are tokens you hold rather than entries in a publisher's database.

What works, at least on paper, is the shape of the loop. Mine, craft, trade, fight is a proven structure, and it maps unusually well onto a token economy: a player-driven market for hulls and components gives the NFTs a reason to exist beyond speculation, and Polygon keeps the transaction costs of frequent trading low enough that a real economy is plausible.

What does not work is verification. There is no developer named, no official website on record, and every claim about the game — the graphics, the scale of the universe, the depth of combat — traces back to promotional copy rather than anything independently checkable. For a title asking players to buy tradeable assets, that absence matters more than it would for a free game.

This is for players already comfortable on Polygon who treat an unverified team as a known risk. Anyone wanting a space sim first and a token economy second should look for a project that publishes who is building it.
