Battlestar Galactica Eternity
What is Battlestar Galactica Eternity?
Battlestar Galactica Eternity is a web3 strategy game built on the Gala Games blockchain, inspired by the Battlestar Galactica television series. The game recreates the show's central narrative: humanity's remnants, the Twelve Colonies, fleeing robotic Cylons across space in search of survival. Players encounter key franchise characters including Commander Adama, President Roslin, and Starbuck while progressing through the game's storyline. The studio that developed Battlestar Galactica Eternity has since abandoned the project and ceased regular updates; information available reflects the game's last public state.
How to play Battlestar Galactica Eternity
Gameplay combines strategy and action through space combat and fleet management. Players engage in real-time battles against Cylon forces, commanding ships with distinct abilities and weapons. Fleet development requires resource management and tactical decisions to ensure survival. Battlestar Galactica Eternity features story-driven missions advancing the show's narrative, planetary exploration for resource gathering, and multiplayer modes supporting both cooperative and competitive play.
Battlestar Galactica Eternity NFTs and blockchain assets
The game integrates blockchain technology, allowing players to own and trade in-game assets as NFTs, including ships, weapons, and collectibles obtained through gameplay or player-to-player transactions. An NFT collection launched on OpenSea, though utilities for these assets remain in development.

Our verdict on Battlestar Galactica Eternity
Battlestar Galactica Eternity was a licensed strategy game announced by Gala Games and developer Revolving Games in 2022 under the codename Project Saturn, made with Universal Games and Digital Platforms and set in the 2004 series continuity. It was never the action game its name suggests. The design was a semi-cooperative 4X MMO played in seasons: you picked one of the Twelve Colonies as your faction, rebuilt from the wreckage on the edge of the Cyrannus System, and grouped with other players into alliances to push back Cylon fleets, with seasonal leaderboards rather than head-to-head PvP as the main measure.
The one genuinely thoughtful idea was ownership as a fix for season resets: ships and officers were meant to persist across seasons and trade on secondary markets, so a season ending did not erase what you had built. That is a real problem in seasonal strategy games, and a defensible reason for the asset layer to exist at all.
Gala cancelled development on 14 June 2024, offering refunds to NFT buyers; reports of unpaid claims continued into 2025. There is nothing to play. It is worth reading about only as a study in how a strong licence and a sound structural idea can still arrive with no game attached.
