ArenaX Labs
ArenaX Labs is a studio rather than a game. Its title is AI Arena, at aiarena.io, and the twist is that a player does not fight: you train a character by playing, the AI copies your habits through imitation learning, and it then fights on your behalf while you watch. Fighters are held as tradable NFTs, matches run on Arbitrum, and the NRN token covers competition entry, staking and rewards. The studio, founded in 2018, has since extended the same machinery into ARC, an agent framework it offers to other developers, and the SAI research platform.
Fighters are NFTs on Arbitrum, so a character you have trained can be sold or transferred
NRN rewards follow competitive placement rather than hours logged
The studio has been going since 2018 and has raised around $11 million
ARC and SAI extend the same AI work beyond the one game
Train-then-watch is a slower, less direct loop than a conventional fighting game
Earnings track both your placement and the NRN token price
Competing for rewards requires an Arbitrum wallet and tokens before you start
Our verdict on ArenaX Labs
ArenaX Labs is a studio, not a game. The game it makes is AI Arena, and its premise is genuinely unlike anything else in the category: you do not fight. You play, the character copies your habits through imitation learning, and then it goes into the arena on its own while you watch it use what you taught it. Winning is a question of how well you trained, not how fast your hands are.
That is the strength and the catch at once. It is a real idea rather than a reskin, and it gives an NFT fighter something an NFT usually lacks โ a history that makes it worth more to somebody else. It also means the moment-to-moment thrill of a fighting game is replaced by something closer to coaching, which will suit a smaller audience than the genre label suggests.
The studio has been at this since 2018, has raised around $11 million, and has since spun the same machinery out into ARC, an agent framework other developers can use, and the SAI research platform. Matches settle on Arbitrum and the NRN token covers entry, staking and rewards.
It is for players who find the training interesting in itself. Anyone who wants to hold the controller during the fight is in the wrong place.
