About Olden Era

What is Olden Era?

Olden Era is a browser card battler in an old-school fantasy style. You lead one warlord and nine beasts against ten citadels, each with its own ruler and three encounters called Raid, Siege and Onslaught. The wiki lists 13 warlords, eight ranks from Recruit to Immortal and 20 artifacts to hunt, and every warlord commands an element and unlocks its spellbook as it grows.

Modes and systems

The Crown Tourney matches your warband against other players, with a calendar-month season, three attacks a day and 50 battles needed to qualify. Pandora is a shared boss fight where the pot is split by damage dealt. The Market lets players sell spare cards for gold, with part of every deal burned. Mines send creatures away on three- or seven-day shifts, and the Forge lets you temper cards up to +12. Quests, a weekly raffle earned by posting about the game, and a monthly ladder complete the loop.

Token and chains

The in-game token is $OEM, which the site says can be withdrawn. The game is listed on Arbitrum and Base. Official channels are X (@olden_era_io), Telegram (OldenEraEN) and Discord.

Our verdict

Olden Era stands out for how much is playable today. The site points to a live tourney, boss pot, market, mines, quests and forge, all backed by a public wiki, which is more than many early crypto card games offer.

The catch is complexity and an unnamed team. It suits card-game fans who enjoy managing many systems; keep spending modest until the token economy proves itself.

Olden Era pros and cons

What we like

4 pros
  • Clear fantasy card-battler structure with ten citadels and 13 warlords
  • Many game modes: tourney, shared boss, market, mines, quests and forge
  • Free-to-enter weekly raffle based on posting, not on paying
  • Full wiki with card stats and rules

What to watch

4 cons
  • Several modes and currencies make the first hours dense
  • $OEM value depends on the market
  • No named studio is listed on the site
  • Some modes reward posting on social media, which may not appeal to everyone
