What is Undead Blocks?

Undead Blocks is a free-to-play, first-person zombie survival shooter built in the Unity engine and distributed as a download for Windows PC and Mac, with gamepad support alongside keyboard and mouse. Despite occasional descriptions casting it as a tower-defense or role-playing title, the game is a wave-based arena shooter: players hold out against escalating hordes of undead, unlocking and upgrading weapons as they progress. Development is led by Wagyu Games, which announced its acquisition of the game from Adonis Software in 2024. The blockchain layer is tied to Ethereum, with weapon NFTs issued on Immutable X.

How to play Undead Blocks

Anyone can install and play without holding tokens or NFTs. Modes documented by the team include Solo (survive as many waves as possible), Squads (cooperative play), SpeedRun (clear a set number of waves as quickly as possible) and Massacre (maximum kills within a time limit). Each mode exists in a standard version and a play-to-earn variant. Killing zombies can drop ZBOX containers holding in-game currency, and weapons can be upgraded to improve damage, ammunition capacity and accuracy, with NFT weapon metadata updating as those upgrades are applied.

Undead Blocks tokenomics & earning

The economy runs on two currencies. Standard, or green, ZBUX remains in-game and is spent on weapon upgrades, new weapons and loot boxes. Gold ZBUX is the withdrawable tier, and reaching it requires owning or renting a Genesis or Apocalypse weapon loadout NFT to access the play-to-earn modes; rentals are supported so players are not required to buy outright. Separately, $UNDEAD is an ERC-20 governance token with a maximum supply of 500 million, used for voting and staking.

Is Undead Blocks worth playing?

The shooter itself is free, so trying it costs nothing beyond the download and a capable PC or Mac. The earning side is gated behind NFT ownership or rental, and reward rates, token value and mode availability have shifted repeatedly since launch.
