Cool Cats is an Ethereum-based collectible project that sits closer to a trading-card economy than to a conventional game. The activity on offer is acquiring cats, breeding them to produce new ones, and trading the results, with each cat carrying a set of attributes and traits that establish where it sits in the collection's rarity hierarchy. Alongside that, there are virtual shows and competitions where owners can put their cats forward for display.

What works is the clarity of the loop. Collect, breed, trade is easy to understand, and the on-chain record means ownership and transfer history are verifiable rather than something you take on trust from an operator. The show-and-competition layer gives the collection a purpose beyond storage.

What does not work is that this is a thin proposition if you came looking for a game. Categorised under mini games, it has no stated combat, progression, or narrative — the depth is in the market, not the mechanics. Trait rarity determines value, which means the experience is largely priced in ETH and shaped by what other collectors want.

It suits collectors comfortable with Ethereum wallets and secondary-market pricing, and anyone drawn to character art as an asset. Players wanting sustained gameplay should look elsewhere.
