Guild of Guardians

What is Guild of Guardians?

Guild of Guardians is a mobile RPG game built on blockchain technology, operating on Ethereum and Immutable X networks. The game combines traditional RPG elements—hero collection, progression, and team-building—with blockchain-based asset ownership. Players collect unique heroes, upgrade their abilities and equipment, and participate in both single-player dungeons and competitive PvP content. The game is designed to appeal to both casual players seeking story-driven experiences and competitive players engaging in ranked PvP arenas.

How to play Guild of Guardians

Gameplay revolves around assembling a team of heroes and progressing through dungeon campaigns while battling monsters and bosses. Players earn rewards from successful battles, which fund hero upgrades and equipment enhancements. The game includes multiple progression paths: story-driven PvE dungeons and competitive PvP arenas where players can earn rewards based on their rankings. Guild membership enables collaborative gameplay and access to shared benefits.

Guild of Guardians tokenomics and blockchain integration

Guild of Guardians heroes exist as NFTs on the blockchain, giving players true ownership of their in-game assets. Players can buy, sell, and trade heroes through the in-game marketplace without restrictions from the game developer. The Immutable X network handles transactions with minimal fees and fast settlement times, making frequent trading practical. The blockchain foundation ensures persistent ownership—heroes can be retained as standalone digital assets outside the active game client.

Our verdict on Guild of Guardians

Guild of Guardians is a free-to-play mobile squad RPG from Immutable Games, co-developed with Mineloader, that opened globally on iOS and Android in May 2024 after a long pre-registration campaign. The useful thing to know up front is how little the blockchain asserts itself: this is a hero-collector at heart, where you assemble Guardians, run dungeon raids and boss rush, and pour the loot back into gear, ascension and skill upgrades before taking the squad into PvP and guild wars.

What works is that separation. It installs and plays like an ordinary mobile RPG, with the wallet layer optional and pushed to the background, and the live-ops cadence — tournaments, new Legendary Guardians, seasonal events, periodic rebalancing across the roster — keeps the collection moving rather than stalling after launch week.

What doesn't: combat leans idle, so you are mostly setting a team and watching it resolve, and anyone wanting moment-to-moment tactical input will find it thin. Progression assumes daily returns and steady grinding. Account sign-in through Immutable is a recurring friction point after connection drops, and asset infrastructure has shifted to Immutable zkEVM, making older Ethereum and Immutable X references largely historical.

It suits collectors and idle-RPG players who want tradable assets available but not mandatory.

This is our own editorial assessment. We do not score games — ratings come from players.
