What is Cross The Ages: Arise?
Cross The Ages: Arise is a free-to-play cooperative action RPG built in Unreal Engine 5. It's set in the Cross The Ages universe, which began as a digital trading card game, and its world mixes fantasy with sci-fi. The game is still in development. It's planned for PC on the Epic Games Store and Steam, and for now it can only be played in limited playtests.
How to play Cross The Ages: Arise
Players create a hero, choose skins and pick weapons, then run dungeons solo or with up to four teammates. Dungeons are full of traps, waves of enemies and boss fights. There are two modes. Competition Mode is timed, and fast clears earn high scores, better loot and a place on the leaderboards. Exploration Mode lets players progress at their own pace.
Your weapon sets your playstyle. Dual blades suit close combat, while a staff casts elemental spells from range. Quests and dungeon clears give experience, which unlocks talent points for specific abilities. Heroes have their own stats and traits, and the early access roster included heroes from the Arkhante faction.
Outside the dungeons there's a hub world where players gather ores, herbs and fish to craft gear, potions and tools. PvP comes through base building and raids. Players can strengthen their own strongholds with resources from dungeon runs, or raid other players' bases for rewards.
Cross The Ages: Arise tokenomics & earning
Arise runs on Immutable X. Some in-game items, including high-tier weapons, rare skins and resources, are NFTs that players own and can trade or sell on the marketplace. The marketplace also handles weapons, materials and cosmetic skins. The blockchain side is optional: you can play the full game without a wallet or any crypto. The game has a built-in wallet that you can later connect to an external wallet.
How to join Cross The Ages: Arise playtests
The team opens closed playtest slots from time to time. Some slots go to holders of Cross The Ages NFTs such as the Mint Pass. Others come through community giveaways, partner programs or the official Discord. You can also wishlist the game on Steam or the Epic Games Store to follow its progress toward launch.

Cross The Ages: Arise is a free-to-play co-op action RPG built in Unreal Engine 5. It's a spin-off from the Cross The Ages trading card game. You create a hero and run trap-filled dungeons solo or with up to four teammates, fighting through waves of enemies to reach the bosses. Your weapon sets your playstyle, so swapping dual blades for an elemental staff changes how you fight.
The structure has some good ideas. A timed Competition Mode with leaderboards sits beside a relaxed Exploration Mode, which gives both speed runners and casual players a way in. Gathered ores, herbs and fish go into crafting and a player marketplace. In PvP, you can build and defend a base or raid other players' bases.
Immutable X handles the blockchain side, and high-tier weapons, rare skins and some resources are tradeable NFTs. You don't need a wallet to play, and the built-in wallet can connect to an external one later. That raises a balance concern: when the best gear is also a sellable asset, raids and timed loot runs can favour players who buy over players who grind.
For now, access is limited. Arise is planned for PC on Steam and the Epic Games Store, and closed playtest slots go to Mint Pass holders, giveaway winners and Discord members. It's aimed at co-op dungeon players already following the card game.
