Catizen is a cat café-themed mini-game adventure that runs as a Telegram Mini App, with no download and no separate client. You open the @catizenbot bot in Telegram and play inside the chat window. The game is published on Telegram by Pluto Studio Limited. It started on TON and now also runs on Mantle through a second bot, @Catizen_Mntbot. The CATI token and airdrops
CATI is the ecosystem token, and Catizen calls its model play for airdrop. At the token generation event, 15 per cent of supply went to Season 1 player rewards, and a further 19 per cent is reserved for the Airdrop Pass, seasonal airdrops paid quarterly over 12 quarters. CATI is used to top up games in the Catizen game center, to buy Airdrop Passes, and to stake in the Launchpool, where holders earn tokens from partner projects.
From one game to a mini-app center
Catizen has grown from a single game into a hub. Its game center has more than 50 signed games from other studios, an open task center pays rewards for partner tasks, and Catizen AI adds a personal AI kitty that you feed, train and bond with. According to the team's 2024 annual report, the wider Catizen Mini App Center passed 55 million players by the end of 2024, with 3.3 million on-chain active users and 1.2 million paying users.
Our verdict
Catizen is a Telegram Mini App on TON, with a second bot on Mantle. It runs inside a chat window, with no install and no client. The loop is idle merging: identical cats combine into higher tiers, those cats earn currency from visitors to your cat café, and that currency buys more cats or feeds side activities like the fishing mode. It is worth correcting a common misdescription: the cats are ordinary game data and not bred NFT collectibles, and trading them is not the point.
What works is the near-zero friction: there is nothing to install. Publisher Pluto Studio has since widened it from one merge game into a small hub of casual mini-games with an AI-branded layer on top.
What does not work is the design, which is built around the airdrop. The September 2024 CATI distribution drew sustained complaints that the community allocation landed well below what players believed they had been promised,. Stripped of the reward, the merge loop is shallow and progression is mostly waiting or spending.
Suited to TON users who want something ambient in Telegram. It does not suit anyone seeking a game with depth.
