Testing phase opens for Honor of Kings: World
TiMi Studio Group’s “Honor of Kings: World” has launched its overseas closed alpha testing, inviting players from select countries in North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia. This expansion allows a broader audience to explore the immersive world of Primaera, a rich fantasy continent built on Unreal Engine 5.
The game offers a dual-hero Flow System, enabling players to adopt multiple fighting styles in real-time combat. This allows for flexible tactics; players can seamlessly switch between roles like tank and ranged fighter during encounters. PvE content includes cooperative boss encounters featuring mythological creatures, while PvP modes are confirmed but details remain sparse.
Participants will experience the full range of the game, from exploration to competitive modes, along with social features such as shared world hubs. Previously, limited demos were showcased at industry events, including GDC and Gamescom.
Giveaway with the announcement
Accompanying the alpha test launch is a social media giveaway. Players can enter by following the game’s official accounts and reposting the Alpha Test Reveal Trailer. Ten winners will receive Alpha Test codes, and another ten will win $50 gift cards for Steam or Amazon.
Big Huang, lead combat designer, said, “We can’t wait to welcome new overseas players into the world of Primaera for the first time. This early playtest gives us our first opportunity to get player feedback at scale that will help us shape the future of Honor of Kings: World.”
Background on the franchise
“Honor of Kings: World” builds on a franchise with deep roots; the original MOBA has over 260 million monthly active users. The game differentiates itself by offering an open-world experience, moving away from the traditional 5v5 gameplay, while still drawing on established lore and characters.
The game is set for continued development, with pre-registration live for iOS. The target date for its initial release in China is April 30, 2026, although no global rollout timeline is confirmed. Players interested in participating in the alpha can sign up on the official website.
