Ronin Market adds Stash support as Waypoint holders face asset migration deadline

Ronin Market now supports Ronin Stash, closing one of the last gaps in the rollout of the wallet that replaces Waypoint.

The Ronin Waypoint page will redirect to Ronin Stash, Ronin said in a post on X. Stash “will soon become the main keyless wallet experience on Ronin,” and the team recommends users move to either Stash or a seed phrase wallet.

The marketplace support matters because Waypoint was the social login layer for buying and trading NFTs on Ronin. Anyone who onboarded through it and never set up a seed phrase wallet has assets sitting in an account on a countdown.

Nothing moves automatically

There is no automatic migration. Waypoint users have to transfer NFTs, tokens and other onchain assets themselves through the portal at wallet.roninchain.com/app/migrating, selecting either a Ronin Stash destination or an address or RNS name. Choosing Stash creates a new address automatically.

Assets left behind after the cutoff are gone. Sky Mavis says failure to migrate results in permanent loss of access.

The dates in Ronin’s own materials don’t line up. The blog post announcing the change and the Sky Mavis support FAQ both say September 16. Ronin’s post on X said September 12, and Coindar’s event feed lists the earlier date.

Users unsure whether they’re affected can log into waypoint.roninchain.com/dashboard/wallet and check whether the wallet appears under Social Login Wallet or Keyless. Those who only ever used a seed phrase wallet need to do nothing. After migrating, users should log out of wallet.roninchain.com and log back in with the Ronin Stash option.

Why the switch

Sky Mavis launched Waypoint in 2024 to get people onto Ronin without a seed phrase. Stash does the same job on Privy’s infrastructure, with free accounts created in seconds using email or social login. The original Ronin Wallet stays available for full self-custody.

The FAQ is blunt about what changed underneath. Waypoint was built “quite a while ago when modern web3 onboarding infrastructure (like Privy) wasn’t yet fully mature or battle-tested,” Sky Mavis said. Those solutions are now industry standard, and moving to Stash lets the team optimize the first-time user experience and “clear the path for massive ecosystem growth.”

On why access ends permanently after 90 days rather than staying open indefinitely, Sky Mavis said maintaining legacy infrastructure raises development cost and fragments the network, and that 90 days gives active users ample time to transition. Direct email reminders and push notifications are planned in waves across the window.

What doesn’t come with you

Most of the complications sit on the Axie side. Sky Mavis says the vast majority of soulbound assets are tied to Axie Infinity, and the Axie team has its own support plan for badge and bAXS migration, with guides on the Axie Discord.

A dedicated badge portal is planned. Badges and Axie Score are meant to transfer safely whether a user moves to Stash or a seed phrase wallet.

bAXS is a harder problem. It’s bonded to the account that earned it and can’t be transferred between wallets, though it substitutes for AXS 1:1 in Axie Core features. Sky Mavis says a solution for bAXS held in keyless wallets is being developed and that detailed instructions will follow.

Atia’s Blessing streaks won’t carry over. Streaks are non-transferrable, and so are Fortune Slips, which Sky Mavis recommends consuming on the Waypoint wallet before starting migration. Lunium is off-chain and also stays put.

Game progression for Axie Classic and Origins was still under engineering investigation when the FAQ was published.
