NoOnes told its users a few weeks ago that they didn’t need to do anything. The EU sanctions listing, the company said, named a different company entirely. Nothing to see here.

Now the platform is in withdrawal-only mode and telling those same users to empty their balances.

The company strongly recommended customers remove their full balances no later than Sunday, Aug. 23. That wasn’t a stated shutdown cutoff, and NoOnes said users will still be able to sign in, view balances, withdraw funds and contact support while it helps them get their money out. But when a platform that spent weeks insisting it wasn’t affected suddenly picks a date and puts it in bold, you take the date seriously.

Two exit doors, and both come with a warning

What’s left is narrow. Regular Bitcoin over the Bitcoin network, and USDT over Tron through TRC-20. That’s it.

Both routes remain open after Aug. 23, according to the company.

NoOnes also warned that a receiving exchange or service may delay, reject or restrict a transfer, and advised customers to confirm acceptance before sending funds. Read that twice. The platform is telling you the money might leave here and not arrive there, and that checking with your destination is on you.

That’s not boilerplate. Chainalysis said it had labeled the listed entities in its products, and Bitget warned that direct or indirect transactions involving entities on the new EU list, including NoOnecrypto INC., could face enhanced review, rejection or account restrictions. If your receiving exchange leans on either signal, a withdrawal that clears on-chain can still land you in a support queue.

The name on the sanctions list isn’t the name on the app

Here’s the part that hasn’t been resolved. The EU regulation adds “NoOnecrypto INC.” to Annex XLV Part A from Aug. 23, under a framework prohibiting direct or indirect transactions with listed non-EU financial, crypto-asset and payment-service entities.

The text doesn’t name the NoOnes brand. It doesn’t identify the platform’s current operator either.

In its earlier clarification, NoOnes called NoOnecrypto INC. a separate legal entity with no connection to the platform’s management or operation. Neither NoOnes nor its current operator was named, the company said. Operations were normal. Users didn’t need to act.

The later wind-down notice said something different: NoOnes had been unable to resolve or remove sanctions affecting the platform. The company blamed the closure on losing essential partners and on blockchain-monitoring providers classifying NoOnes-related wallets and transactions as high risk.

Those two statements can technically coexist. A sanctions listing can hit a legally separate entity and still poison the banking and compliance relationships around a brand that shares its name. But NoOnes hasn’t said who operates it today, and the Bitget and Chainalysis notices don’t fill that gap. They document compliance controls around the EU-listed company. Neither identifies NoOnes’s current operator, and neither documents which partners actually stopped serving the platform.

The shutdown started before most users heard about it

The wind-down began Aug. 17. The P2P marketplace, the thing NoOnes was built around, closed Aug. 21 at 11:59 p.m. UTC.

Everything else went with it. Bitcoin Lightning, every USDT network except TRC-20, Swap, Visa, crypto off-ramps, gift cards, partner payouts and new registrations were among the closed services.

So if you were holding USDT on a network other than Tron, or relying on Lightning, your route out closed before the Aug. 23 date the company was pointing everyone toward.

If your account is on hold, you’re waiting

Accounts already on hold can’t withdraw immediately. NoOnes said it will move those accounts to banned status, which blocks trading but lets users sign in and withdraw available funds once each change is completed.

“Once each change is completed” is doing a lot of work in that sentence. There’s no timeline attached to it.

A green Bitcoin traffic signal shows regulated perpetual trading moving ahead as SEC token fundraising remains blocked.

The company said it served more than 2.5 million users over more than three years. It hasn’t said when withdrawal-only access will end.

That last part is the practical problem. Every other date in this story, Aug. 17, Aug. 21, Aug. 23, was announced. The one date that decides whether you get your money is the one nobody has published. If you still have a balance sitting on NoOnes, move it to Bitcoin mainnet or TRC-20 USDT today, and message the receiving exchange before you hit send.
