Amazon restocked a pile of hard-to-find Pokémon TCG sets for Labor Day, and this is the headliner.
According to TCGplayer, the listed median price for these hovers around $310. So $274.99 is a decent number. Still well above MSRP, but decent.
The resale math, honestly
The market price sits a little lower, around $257.54. Which means you could shave a few bucks buying through TCGplayer or eBay instead.
But those prices don’t necessarily include delivery. Factor shipping in and the gap closes fast.
Amazon’s the safer play if you’ve got credit or gift cards sitting in your account doing nothing. Or if you’d rather buy a brand-new, guaranteed-sealed box from a major retailer than roll the dice on a third-party seller.

Why this set won’t die
Prismatic Evolutions has stayed hot with collectors and players alike, and the reason is simple. Pull potential.
The Scarlet & Violet set keeps going from strength to strength on the back of what’s hiding in those packs.
When a box can potentially bag you a $1500 ultra rare like Umbreon ex – 161/131, the most valuable card from last year, the sticker price starts looking negotiable to a certain kind of buyer.
I’m not entirely convinced myself. Buy more than a few of these and you’re halfway to just purchasing the expensive card outright.
Still. If you think these appreciate further, the move is buying one to open and one to shelve as an investment.
Is it worth it, though
That’s on you. “Market price” is just what people are currently willing to pay, and willingness isn’t the same thing as value.
Take the First Partner Illustration Collection sets. At around $34, that’s arguably the best price we’ve seen on any of them. It’s also more than double the original $14.99 MSRP.
Finding Pokémon TCG products at MSRP has gotten harder and harder. Market prices are frequently what collectors are stuck paying, even at retailers like Amazon.
