Trevor Philips was reportedly supposed to freeze solid and shatter.
That’s the claim coming out of the newest round of digging through leaked Rockstar material, and it sends you straight back to a decision you probably made over a decade ago. Option A. Franklin picks Trevor. The oil tanker. You know the one.
According to leaked dialogue circulating now, that tanker wasn’t the original plan.
What the leaked dialogue reportedly shows
X user TJGM received a leak from HeySlickThatsMe containing unseen dialogue tied to the ending where Franklin targets Trevor over Michael. Instead of Trevor crashing into an oil tanker, the leaked dialogue suggests Rockstar originally considered having him slam into a truck filled with liquid nitrogen.
He’d freeze. Then shatter to pieces.
Brutally fitting, if you think about who Trevor is. And it’s worth being clear about what this is: unverified leaked development material, not anything Rockstar or Take-Two has confirmed or commented on.
Brucie was apparently in the mix too
Trevor’s alternate exit isn’t the only thing surfacing. TJGM also revealed cut dialogue involving Brucie from GTA 4, who was apparently planned to appear in GTA 5’s single-player campaign and have missions with Franklin.
A Brucie and Franklin mission strand. Sitting in a file somewhere, unfinished.
Where all this material came from
The dialogue comes out of the 192 GB batch of scrapped GTA 5 source code files, the same batch that fueled reports GTA 6 may get Liberty City DLC. That archive has been circulating publicly, and data miners keep pulling things out of the years-old development material.
One thing to keep straight before you treat any of it as news: most of the material originates from Rockstar’s 2022 security breach and was not newly created. These are old ideas, not fresh ones.
What else is reportedly buried in the archive
The whole archive reportedly contains cut GTA 5 content, early dialogue, vehicles, mission information, Agent Trevor, DLC assets, and possibly early GTA 6 files. It also reportedly contains evidence of a planned Liberty City expansion for GTA 5, alongside some low-quality GTA 6 map assets that resemble the areas shown in the game’s trailers.
Reportedly is doing real work in that sentence. None of it has been confirmed by Rockstar.
What the discoveries do underline is how many ideas, characters and storylines Rockstar explored before settling on GTA 5’s final form. Somewhere in a 2013 build, Trevor Philips hit a nitrogen truck and came apart on the asphalt, and you never saw it.
