In Brief:

  • Gods Unchained (official site) will release Reckoning, an 87-card expansion, on Oct. 13, with pack sales running four weeks through Nov. 10.
  • For the first time, Reckoning packs are NFTs that holders can keep, trade or open later.
  • The set has four pack tiers from $1.99 to $249.99, 12 variants and no Mythics.

Gods Unchained GODS $0.02522 ▼ -0.8% will open sales for its next expansion, Reckoning, on Oct. 13. The set has 87 packable cards, and the sale window closes Nov. 10.

The bigger change is in the packs themselves. “Reckoning packs are NFTs you can hold, trade, or open whenever you’re ready,” the studio’s collector’s guide said.

87 cards. Six domains at war. An ancient threat that doesn't negotiate. A plan built on a secret nobody was supposed to find out about — and the people who paid for it.

That ends the setup used in earlier sets. The guide pointed to a separate article for how sealed packs will work. It didn’t name a marketplace or chain in the collector’s guide itself.

Four tiers, one new top shelf

Every Reckoning pack holds six cards. Booster packs cost $1.99 and lean toward commons, with a chance at rare or better.

Premium packs cost $19.99 and guarantee an Epic and a Legendary. Shiny packs cost $199.99 and hold only Epics and Legendaries at a higher shine level.

A fourth tier sits above those. Mega Shiny packs cost $249.99 and contain six Epic or Legendary cards plus one guaranteed high-shine Legendary.

The guide didn’t list supply caps for any tier. The year’s two earlier sets, Roots of Ruin and The Waking Plague, both capped their $1.99 packs at 20,000 units.

How the cards break down

Each of the six god domains (Death, Deception, Light, Magic, Nature and War) gets 12 cards: four commons, three rares, three Epics and two Legendaries.

Neutral cards make up the remaining 15. That group has three commons, three rares, three Epics and six Legendaries, the largest Legendary count of any slice of the set.

Across all 87 cards, the split is 27 commons, 21 rares, 21 Epics and 18 Legendaries. There are no Mythics.

The studio teased the set on X in four short lines. “87 cards. Six domains at war. An ancient threat that doesn’t negotiate.” The post went on to describe a plan resting on a secret that was never meant to come out, and the people who paid the price for it.

Variants and promos

Reckoning carries 12 variants in total. Nine come out of packs.

Booster packs can drop three: Harald Until Death, Rear Admiral Thibbs and Divya No Longer. Premium packs hold two, The Bishop and The Swollen Terror.

Shiny packs carry Vesper Relentless Adjudicator, The Amorphous Mass and Ella Combat Painter. The Mega Shiny tier gets one variant of its own: What Glorious Fortune.

A packable Legendary Promo appears across every pack tier. The guide said it’s the first time one has entered the general pool. It didn’t name the card.

The six Squeaklings promo cards, one per child, also continue in Premium, Shiny and Mega Shiny packs. They have been mintable across every 2026 release.

Outside the packs

Reckoning’s commons enter through Battle Pass 19. Whale Battle Packs carry The Thirsting Syphon variant.

Two legend pack rewards round out the list. Sealed mode players who reach seven wins earn Psychic Quake. In Conquest, five wins earns The Colorless Shape.

The Divine Tithings discount program stays in place. Players can burn existing cards for “up to 35% off a single pack purchase,” the guide said, though pack types can’t be mixed in one burn transaction.

Third set of the year

Reckoning follows two smaller 2026 releases. Roots of Ruin launched Feb. 17 with 44 cards and introduced the Everborn, a neutral tribe. The Waking Plague went live June 16 with 46 cards.

Those sets came in three pack tiers. Reckoning adds the fourth, and its price gap is small: the Mega Shiny costs $50 more than a Shiny pack, for one extra card.
