In Brief:

  • Astra Nova (official site) has initiated the Forge, burning 350 million RVV tokens in a single transaction on BNB Smart Chain.
  • The burn signals the start of a 1 billion RVV Mega Burn program aimed at reducing the total supply by 10 percent.
  • The permanent removal of these tokens is expected to impact the circulating supply significantly.

Astra Nova has kicked off a significant token burn, removing 350 million RVV from circulation as part of its Mega Burn program. The transaction, conducted on BNB Smart Chain, has been documented on BscScan for holder verification.

This initial 350-million burn constitutes 35 percent of the total 1 billion RVV targeted for removal. The program will occur over six phases, with the remaining 650 million RVV divided into five increments of 130 million each. The date for the next phase hasn’t been disclosed.

Impact on token supply

The burn reduces the maximum RVV supply from 10 billion to 9 billion. While the program represents a 10 percent cut, the impact on actual market supply is more pronounced. Current figures show about 1.02 billion RVV circulating, which means this burn closely resembles the entire existing supply.

Astra Nova has not specified which allocations contributed to the burnt tokens, raising questions about the overall distribution.

Ongoing burn mechanisms

In addition to the scheduled Mega Burn, Astra Nova employs an automated buyback and burn mechanism tied to TokenPlay, its app platform. This model generates ongoing token removals based on transaction fees, complementing the fixed public reductions.

This structured approach follows a challenging inaugural year for RVV. After launching with exchange listings in October 2025, the project faced a $10 million loss due to a market maker hack, prompting a buyback commitment from the team.

Recovery efforts post-hack

The buyback, completed in January 2026, saw the repurchase of 660 million RVV valued between $6.5 million and $7 million. These tokens were secured in a public wallet with a six-month lockup, and future use is aligned with ecosystem incentives.

Co-founder Faizy Ahmed asserted the buyback was “a reaffirmation of who we are and how we build.”

What lies ahead for Astra Nova

Astra Nova is an AI-powered entertainment ecosystem that integrates adaptive AI with player-driven narratives. Its diverse offerings include TokenPlay, an AI game creation platform, an AI-driven action RPG, a webcomic platform, and a loyalty rewards network.

RVV serves multiple functions within this framework, facilitating in-game transactions, NFT purchases, staking, and governance. Staking launched in November 2025, and the token’s total supply allocation features 57 percent for community and ecosystem efforts.

As of now, after the 350-million token burn, 650 million remain scheduled for future phases of this major initiative.
