Thirty years. That’s how long the Pokémon Trading Card Game has been printing cardboard, and somehow it still hasn’t made a Valentine’s Day set. That changes on January 27, 2027.
The product is reportedly called the “Pokémon TCG Valentine’s Box,” and it’s the first time the game has ever done a set built around Valentine’s Day. After three decades of collections stretching back to the ’90s, finding something the TCG hasn’t tried yet is a feat in itself.
What’s in the box
The box holds 20 mini booster packs, all themed around Valentine’s Day. Each one comes with three Pokémon cards and five sticker sheets.
The best part is the box itself. It can turn into a little mailbox, so you can collect valentines from other people. That’s the kind of detail that makes a product like this work for kids (and for the adults who will absolutely buy one for themselves).
No images have been released yet. Based on what’s been reported so far, though, it sounds adorable.

Trick or Trade, but for crushes
If this sounds familiar, it should. The setup closely mirrors the Trick or Trade sets released for Halloween in past years. Those were built to stand in for candy. These will apparently stand in for Valentine’s Day cards.
There’s no word yet on how many cards are in the set. Going by how the company has handled Christmas and Halloween, my guess is the total will likely land somewhere between 30 and 50. And like the Trick or Trade sets, the cards will likely be reprints carrying some kind of special stamp.
Who’s getting a card
My bet is on the obvious heart-shaped candidate, Luvdisc. Expect the sweets crowd too, like Alcremie, plus flower Pokémon like Roselia and romance-coded picks like Aromatisse and Enamorus.

And no Pokémon TCG set is complete without a Pikachu card or two. Same goes for Eevee.
A busy stretch for the TCG
The Valentine’s Box lands right after a packed run for the game. The 30th Celebration set just marked the three-decade milestone, and Delta Reign drops next month. We also already have a rough sense of what 2027 holds.
More details on the Valentine’s Box should arrive before it launches on January 27. Until then, all we’ve got is the mental image of a kid handing out Pikachu valentines from a tiny cardboard mailbox.
