In Brief:
- Illuvium ILV $3.86 0% pushed Illuvium: Arena (official site) v1.18.8 live and opened the Abyssal Chasm Event Pass, which runs until Oct. 27 at 00:00 UTC.
- Only Ranked Gauntlet matches earn Arena Points and count toward missions. The Premium Track costs 800 Fuel.
- Premium holders can enter Illuvium Challengers Series #2, a two-day Ranked Gauntlet tournament with $500 USD in ILV split across eight places.
Illuvium put Illuvium: Arena v1.18.8 live and started the Abyssal Chasm Event Pass on Oct. 7. It’s the second Event Pass in less than a month.
The pass runs for 19 days and closes Oct. 27 at 00:00 UTC. Players earn Arena Points by queuing Ranked Gauntlet, then claim rewards at thresholds that run from 3 to 750 Arena Points. Unranked play doesn’t count.
Illuvium: Arena v1.18.8 is live!
The Abyssal Chasm Event Pass is officially underway. Queue Ranked Gauntlet, complete Daily and Weekly missions, and progress through both Free and Premium reward tracks!
“Finish what you start: once the event is over, the rewards are gone as well,” Illuvium said in its announcement.
Two tracks, one price
Every Ranger gets the Free Track. The Premium Track costs 800 Fuel, the same price as the previous pass.
The Free Track pays nine rewards: Earth Doka (Stage 1, Level 10), Water Fliish (Stage 1, Level 20), Earth Volante (Stage 2, Level 30), Water Volante (Stage 3, Level 45), Greater Monkier (Level 30), Loulura (Level 30) and Malura (Level 45), plus 50 Fuel in drops.
Premium adds Illuvials with set TPI values. Those include Lesser Monkier (40 TPI, Level 20), Lura (40 TPI, Level 30), Exalted Monkier, Aapon and Grilla (50 TPI, Level 42) and Phorus and Goliant (65 TPI, Level 45). The track also carries the All In Stoic Floralynx emote, 200 Fuel in drops and the Abyssal Chasm Challenger title.
XP boosts make up the rest of the premium payouts. They come in four sizes: 80% for three days, 120% for seven days, 160% for 10 days and 40% for 60 days.
“Premium is undoubtedly where it’s at for this Event Pass. The Free Track still pays real Illuvials and Fuel. Premium is where TPI, XP boosts, the emote, and the title live,” Illuvium said.
Missions
Daily and Weekly missions feed the same Arena Points pool. Free daily missions are worth 5 Arena Points and free weeklies are worth 20. Premium doubles both, to 10 and 40.
Illuvium gave two sample objectives. The daily asks players to “get a 10-round win streak in a Ranked match,” and the weekly asks them to “play 15 Ranked matches.”
Challengers Series #2
Premium Event Pass holders can sign up for Illuvium Challengers Series #2, hosted by Sylen. Entry is first come, first served.
Day One is Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. UTC, with best-of-one rounds cutting the field from 32 to 16 to eight. The finals follow Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. UTC, with eight competitors playing a best-of-three points format.
The $500 USD prize pool is paid in ILV. First place takes $200, second gets $100 and third gets $75. Fourth through eighth receive $50, $30, $20, $15 and $10.
Following Taiga Boreal
Abyssal Chasm comes after Taiga Boreal, Arena’s first Event Pass. That one ran from Sept. 16 to Oct. 1, also cost 800 Fuel for Premium and topped out at 500 Arena Points. Its tournament finals were held Oct. 4.
Illuvium said Event Passes “are mini Battle Passes that last shorter but happen much more often.” For comparison, the Season 1 Battle Pass ran 90 days and charged 3,900 Fuel for Premium.
Patches have come just as fast. Update 1.18.7 went out Oct. 1 and cut the Max Health damage on Rypter, Rypterus and Ryplance from 10%, 15% and 20% to 5%, 10% and 15%. It also raised their Energy Cost from 80 to 90.
That update also cut Spore synergy heals to 4% and 8%, and the Radiating Impact Reactor augment’s pulse dropped to 1% Max Health as Pure Damage per second. When the pass opened, Illuvium’s news portal didn’t have separate patch notes for v1.18.8.
Illuvium said the new pass “is built around Abyssal Chasm and the Illuvials that hunt there.”
