Where the game stands
Outer Ring is in Beta 0.1.0. It’s free to play on Windows 10 and later, and battle royale is live.
The official site lists five playable factions, battle royale, arenas, dungeons and missions in the current build. It also includes the Great Silver City and Fanet locations, plus Galactic Foundry crafting. The game is built in Unreal Engine 5.
The update’s focus on matches and tournaments fits the near-term roadmap on the site. That roadmap lists balance patches based on beta feedback, new arenas and missions, deeper progression and crafting, and wipes when needed. The developers said any wipe would be announced first.
Further out, the roadmap lists the full-scale persistent open world, new regions of the Ring and larger faction warfare.
Trading and the economy
Trading is central to the game’s design. Players can trade weapons, armor, land vehicles and space vehicles through the game’s dapp marketplace, and the team has already launched the Underground Market for trading materials.
The official site cites more than $209 million in BG Marketplace volume and more than 37,000 tokenized items. It describes the Blink Galaxy economy as optional and says the game isn’t pay-to-win.
Outer Ring has gone through several token changes. Older documentation lists Exocredits (EXO) as the in-game currency and Galactic Quadrants (GQ) as the governance token and second in-game currency.
In September 2025, the project said GQ would stay within Outer Ring while $BG would power the Blink Galaxy Blockchain.
The GQ to BG swap
Blink Galaxy, developed by SOREDI GAMES, brings Outer Ring, Racerloop and the Blink Galaxy hub together under $BG. Gameplay runs on SKALE. $BG launched on Base for liquidity.
$BG is used for governance, marketplace fees and discounts, partner incentives and player rewards. It isn’t the gas token for players.
The token generation event was set for Dec. 1, 2025, with the DEX listing first, and mainnet was scheduled for Jan. 1, 2026.
Under the swap program, holders stake GQ, the GQ is burned and BG is paid out linearly over six months. The baseline is five GQ for one BG, but the rate is locked each month based on GQ’s market price and a BG reference price.
The project gave an example: if GQ traded at $0.001 on Jan. 1, 2026, all January participants would get one BG for every 60 GQ. BG earned through the swap vests linearly from July through December 2026.
Background
Outer Ring launched its alpha on Aug. 24, 2025, and has shipped monthly updates since. The game’s earlier design included battle arenas from 200-player matches down to guild arenas, with rewards tied to weekly leaderboard rank and plans for esports tournaments.
The project’s own disclaimer says Nexxyo Labs and Windex Technologies OÜ may make economy changes that directly or indirectly affect how players earn Exocredits or Galactic Quadrants.
