In July 2025, XRP was storming the $3.65 mark and people couldn’t stop Googling it. By mid-October 2026, global search interest in the coin had corrected by more than 90% on an annual scale from that peak, according to Google Trends.
The popularity index for the query now sits at 13 points out of 100. That’s the sharpest shift in market sentiment the data shows, and it tells you the retail crowd has stepped back into a deep wait-and-see mode.
One spike, then nothing
Stretch the chart back to 2012 and the mid-2025 surge looks like a lone mountain on a flat plain. Before it and after it, search traffic sits at zero.
The last 12 months tell the same story. Search query volume on an annual scale has fallen by exactly half. A local burst of activity in August and September didn’t last either. By mid-October it had faded completely.
XRP isn’t the only coin nobody’s searching for
Before anyone reads this as an XRP-specific collapse, look at bitcoin. Search activity for the biggest coin is also at multi-year lows right now. This is the crypto market’s version of the off-season, and the apathy is spread across the board.
But XRP’s lull comes with a twist. Small traders have stopped clicking links, yet the price chart stubbornly refuses to fall further.
The price is stuck, not sinking
XRP is squeezed into a narrow corridor of $1.30 to $1.34, holding key support around $1.25. That’s well under half the $3.65 it touched when searches peaked. Still, it isn’t the freefall you’d expect if a 90% drop in attention mapped directly onto price.
Meanwhile the derivatives market has fully cleared itself of excess leverage and froth. Fewer overextended bets means fewer forced liquidations waiting to cascade.
What the models expect next
The silence in search engines scares speculators. Prediction platforms and algorithmic models agree, though, that the psychological bottom of retail interest has been found.
Their most likely scenario through the end of October is consolidation in the $1.40 to $1.50 corridor. That’s a modest move up from where XRP trades today, and it’s a forecast, not a promise.
Here’s the part worth holding onto: it’s premature to expect new records until the mass trader comes back to Google. If you’re watching for that return, the Trends index is the cheapest signal you’ve got. A number climbing off 13 would tell you more than any price target, and this kind of calm on an annual scale may become a solid base for the next long-term cycle.
