What is Big Time?

Big Time is a free-to-play multiplayer action RPG from Big Time Studios, founded in 2020 by Thor Alexander and Ari Meilich. It pairs fast-paced dungeon combat with a time-travel premise that sends parties between ancient civilizations and far-future settings. The game runs on Windows PC and is installed through the Open Loot Launcher rather than a mainstream storefront; the published minimum spec is an Intel Core i5-4430 or AMD FX-6300, 8 GB RAM, a GeForce GTX 1060 or Radeon RX 580, DirectX 11 and about 23 GB of drive space. Its collectibles and the $BIGTIME token live on Ethereum.

How to play Big Time

Players choose from six classes, and a Pocket Watch item lets a character switch class during play, with skills, abilities and equipment saved per class so each can be levelled at its own pace. Dungeons are procedurally generated and drop a mix of NFT and non-NFT loot, with parties of up to six. Crafting and upgrading run through the Forge, the Armory and the Time Warden, while Prestige Portals offer higher drop rates for cosmetic collectibles and resources such as Time Crystals and Cosmetic Shards.

Big Time tokenomics & earning

$BIGTIME drops randomly in-game only while at least one charged Hourglass is equipped; up to five can be worn at once. Hourglasses are crafted by Time Wardens across ten rarity tiers, and rarity sets the yield bonus, from 0% on a common to as much as 2,000% on a unique. Tokens are not tradable inside the game or its marketplace, but can be exported from Open Loot to a personal wallet. Utility includes refining, crafting and upgrading, shortening crafting timers, and opening Prestige Portals. The token launched with no team or investor allocation: 60% to player rewards, 20% to ecosystem and treasury, 20% to community and marketing. Cosmetics, Hourglasses and SPACE — customizable personal areas that can host workshops — trade on the Open Loot marketplace, which supports both crypto and card payment and uses vault technology so no separate wallet is required to start.

Our verdict on Big Time

Big Time is a free-to-play, PC-only action RPG built around a time-travel premise: parties of up to six clear procedurally generated dungeons that jump between ancient civilizations and far-future settings. It installs through the Open Loot Launcher rather than a mainstream storefront, so there is no public store page, review history or refund policy to fall back on before downloading.

The class system is the most interesting design choice. Six classes exist, but a Pocket Watch item lets a single character swap between them, with skills, abilities and equipment saved per class, so builds level independently instead of forcing alt characters. Dungeons drop both NFT and ordinary loot, which means basic progression does not require buying in.

The friction sits on the earning side. $BIGTIME drops only while a charged Hourglass is equipped, and Hourglasses span ten rarity tiers whose yield bonus runs from nothing on a common to as much as 2,000% on a unique — so anyone earning at a meaningful rate is someone who acquired the top tiers.
