Nine Chronicles is a free-to-play idle MMORPG from Planetarium, live since October 2020 and built on Libplanet, the studio's own C# ledger library. The unusual part is not that it has a token but that the game state is the chain: stages cleared, items crafted and trades made are transactions on a network the players themselves help run, rather than cosmetic assets bolted onto a general-purpose chain.

What works is the durability that follows from that design. Because the client doubles as a node, the world does not depend on a single studio keeping servers online, and the Norse-flavoured Adventure campaign, Arena ladder and World Boss raids give the grind somewhere to go. Crafting and cooking are randomised, so gear planning carries real weight.

What does not work is the cost of entry.
