Blast Royale is a free-to-play multiplayer battle royale built around NFT assets on Polygon, positioning itself at the intersection of two things that rarely sit comfortably together: a fast arena shooter and a tradable-item economy. The core loop is real-time combat against other players, with characters that carry distinct abilities and weapons, so positioning and loadout choices matter as much as raw aim.

What works, at least on paper, is the decision to keep entry free and put the blockchain layer on the items rather than the door — you can play without buying in, and the gear you accumulate is genuinely yours to trade. Polygon is a sensible chain for this, since a shooter generating constant item movement needs cheap transactions to function at all.

What does not work is harder to ignore. Battle royale is the most population-dependent genre there is; matches only feel fair when the queue is deep, and an NFT economy adds a second population problem, because item values depend on a steady flow of new buyers. The publicly available information also says little about how the developer plans to sustain either.

It is for players already comfortable with on-chain ownership who want a shooter to spend it in — not for anyone hoping the crypto layer will stay out of the way.
