About Idle Donkeys
What is Idle Donkeys?
Idle Donkeys is a free idle business game that runs in the browser on Solana. Its tagline is "dodgy donkeys running suspiciously profitable farms". You start with a Hay Farm and expand through 14 businesses, from Apple, Berry and Carrot Farms to Pumpkin Farms, Salt Licks, Treats, the Crystal Mine and a DKV Token Mint. Each cycle produces Hay, and managers automate businesses, including while you are offline.
Managers and prestige
Donkey managers keep farms running but skim a cut. Upgrading a manager from Tier 1 to Tier 5 cuts that skim from 60 per cent to 20 per cent. After Business 12 you can sell your empire in a prestige for Crystals, choose one of seven permanent upgrade axes and restart with 200 Hay to go faster.
Currencies and NFTs
There are three currencies. Hay comes from businesses 1 to 12, Crystals come from the Crystal Mine, daily mini-games, achievements and prestige, and DKV tokens come from Business 14. The site says in-game DKV matches its real on-chain value and can be sent to a wallet through an in-game exchange. NFT managers record every upgrade on-chain. The project publishes a wiki, a Web3 guide and a getting-started video, and community lives on X (@SolDonkeyverse) and Discord.
Our verdict
Idle Donkeys is a well-organised idle game with a distinct sense of humour. The businesses, manager tiers and prestige system are clearly documented, and offline earning makes it easy to check in for a few minutes a day.
The on-chain layer is optional to understand but not to use if you want real DKV, so read the Web3 guide before connecting a wallet. Idle-game fans will find plenty to do.
