The Desolation

The Desolation is a browser-based sci-fi survival game built around a post-apocalyptic wasteland setting, with blockchain used for asset ownership and transactions rather than as the thing you actually do minute to minute. The pitch leans on three pillars: narrative exploration, resource management, and player-versus-player conflict, held together by an alliance system that lets groups trade materials and fight for territory.

What works, at least on paper, is the emphasis on scarcity. Resource management and survival pressure give the token layer something to be about — assets have a use inside the fiction instead of existing purely as tradeable objects. The social framing helps too; alliances and trade give a wasteland setting the one thing it usually lacks, which is a reason to talk to other players.

The weaknesses are mostly in what the game does not say. There is no clarity on which chain it runs on, no named studio behind it, and the public description stays at the level of genre keywords — immersive storytelling, hidden secrets, new abilities — without showing how any of it plays. Anyone weighing an asset purchase is working with very little.

It suits players who like grim survival settings and player-driven economies, and who are comfortable evaluating a project that is still thin on public detail.
