  • Meta Racing (official site) ran its Game Night tournament Sept. 3 at 4 p.m. UTC with a $350 prize pool and 10 winners.
  • The Solana racing card game said 65 racers entered, an all-time high, and that $500 went out to players over the week.
  • Every valid entry earned in-game rewards, with the full rules posted to the project’s Discord.

Meta Racing said 65 racers entered its Sept. 3 Game Night, the most the project has recorded for a single event, and that $500 was paid out to players over the week.

The tournament started at 4 p.m. UTC. Meta Racing announced it with a $350 prize pool split among 10 winners and said every valid entry would collect in-game rewards on top of the cash placements. Rules went out through the project’s Discord rather than its site.

The lobby didn’t thin out. “game night filled up and stayed full to the last minute,” the project said.

The $500 figure is a weekly total and sits above the $350 pool advertised for the tournament itself. Meta Racing did not break out how the remainder was distributed, or publish placement-by-placement results.

It also didn’t name the 10 winners. The project framed the turnout as the headline result rather than any individual performance.

How the racing works

Races in Meta Racing are decided before the green flag as much as during it. Players build a car, assign a pilot and assemble a deck of ability cards, then spend energy to deploy those cards turn by turn as the race runs.

Cards fall into five types: Boost, Attack, Defence, Control and Trick. Boost cards raise a car’s own stats. Attack cards apply debuffs to rivals, Defence cards block or reflect them and Control cards interfere with the flow of a race, freezing an opponent’s energy among other effects.

Cards come in five rarities with three upgrade levels each. Duplicates can be recycled to level a card up, and legendary cards arrive pre-leveled.

Cars run on four stats: Acceleration, Handling, Power and Durability. Parts of varying rarity improve them, and progression stops at level 35.

IGT and the pilot fee

Races pay out in IGT, the in-game currency pegged at $0.10. Ability cards are required to enter the competitive mode where token rewards are on the table, and the project’s own guidance points new players toward free Casual lobbies before the reward tiers.

Pilots are the other lever. Renting one costs 5% of a player’s rewards. Owning the pilot NFT removes that cut and opens staking, which generates IGT passively.

Meta Racing has been building out the Pilots collection for months and calls it the core of the game, describing it as the gateway to bonuses, perks and long-term progression. A mini-game is live where Pilots holders farm airdrop points.

Background

The project ran its ability card NFT pack mint through Magic Eden’s launchpad, alongside a Zealy quest campaign and guild onboarding. Participants who reached level 4 in that campaign unlocked whitelist access for the Pilot NFT mint and entry into a draw for one of 50 Solana Boxes, with a total prize pool valued at 3,000 USDT.

The roadmap put game release, on-chain tournaments and seasonal leaderboards in Q1 2026, with a token generation event attached. Q2 2026 covers new game modes, further tournaments and a themed-season battle pass.

The setting is a dystopia run by mega-corporations that control resources and technology. Tracks are generated randomly from segments with different conditions, which is the project’s argument for why preparation matters more than grinding.

Meta Racing has run about 27,300 followers on X since opening the account in April 2023. On the Game Night totals, the project was blunt about where they came from. “none of those numbers came from us,” it said. “they came from people who showed up and raced.”
