Guild of Guardians is a free-to-play fantasy squad RPG for mobile, made by Immutable Games together with developer Mineloader. It launched globally on iOS and Android in May 2024, opening with its first season, The Dread Is Here, after a long pre-registration campaign, and the launch came with $1 million in prizes. The game is a hero collector at heart: you assemble a squad of Guardians, among them characters such as Tybor, Ennara, Lia and Ashwyn, and take them through a world of dungeons, magic and loot.
How to play Guild of Guardians
Play centres on building a team and running it through increasingly difficult dungeons and boss fights, then putting the loot back into gear, ascension and skill upgrades. Combat leans idle: you set the squad and its formation and watch the fight resolve, so your decisions are about who you bring and how you upgrade them, with no live inputs. Around the core loop sit PvP, guild content, tournaments and time-limited events, and the official site lists an Altar, a vault called Gruff's Vault and a marketplace alongside the game. New Legendary Guardians, seasonal events and balance passes keep the roster moving. A companion title, Guild of Guardians Dungeons, has opened in early access.
Chain, token and ownership
Guild of Guardians runs on Immutable zkEVM. The game started on Immutable X and moved to Immutable zkEVM in 2024, when players linked their Immutable Passport to migrate their NFTs without fees, and the GOG token moved with it. GOG is the project's ERC-20 token. Guardians and other items can be traded on the marketplace, yet the blockchain stays in the background: you can install the game and play it like any other mobile RPG.

The useful thing to know up front is how little the blockchain asserts itself: this is a hero-collector at heart, where you assemble Guardians, run dungeon raids and boss rush, and pour the loot back into gear, ascension and skill upgrades before taking the squad into PvP and guild wars.
What works is that separation. It installs and plays like an ordinary mobile RPG, with the wallet layer optional and pushed to the background, and the live-ops cadence — tournaments, new Legendary Guardians, seasonal events, periodic rebalancing across the roster — keeps the collection moving rather than stalling after launch week.
What doesn't: combat leans idle, so you are mostly setting a team and watching it resolve, and anyone wanting moment-to-moment tactical input will find it thin. Progression assumes daily returns and steady grinding.
