Wild Forest is a real-time strategy game from Zillion Whales, the studio behind Mushroom Wars 2 — not the exploration-and-collecting adventure that some listings describe. A match is a single-screen skirmish: you seize resource points, spend on units drawn from a deck of up to seven cards, and try to bring down the opposing castle before yours falls. It is free to play, and built to run on phones as well as desktop.

What works is the compression. Cutting the map to one screen removes the map-scrolling and base-sprawl that make most RTS games hostile to newcomers, while keeping the parts that matter: unit counters across a roster of twenty-five-plus, timing your spend, and a day-night cycle that hides the field in fog after dark. Deck construction gives it a second layer that survives past the first week.

What does not work as cleanly is the ownership layer. Units can be minted as NFTs and upgraded by burning lesser copies, with packs and a $WF token attached — a structure that sits alongside the strategy rather than improving it, and one that pushes progression toward acquisition.

It suits players who want short, genuinely competitive strategy on mobile and are comfortable ignoring the token side. Anyone hoping for a deep campaign or open-world exploration should look elsewhere.
