What is SophiaVerse?

SophiaVerse is a game built around artificial intelligence rather than merely running on a blockchain. Players step into SAIL: Sentience AI Labs, and take an active part in a quest for A.I. sentience. It comes from SophiaLabs and sits inside the wider SingularityNET ecosystem, the decentralised AI network associated with the Sophia robot, which is where the project's name and its subject matter both come from.

How to play SophiaVerse

The core of the game is a relationship with AI-NPCs, who act as companions and opponents across a quest through the world. You customise your lab, your character and your AI companions with upgrades and enhancements, and you progress by uncovering the lore of an expanding world, overcoming obstacles and solving puzzles. The distinctive mechanic is what happens to what you do in-game: data from your lessons and experiences is used to train a real-world A.I. system, framed as fostering a co-operative relationship between that system and humankind. A separate token layer runs alongside it. Staking $SOPH earns perpetual daily bonus multipliers that grow the longer the stake is held, across tiers from Bronze up to Singularity. Access to the broader ecosystem runs through Sentience, a companion dApp that acts as the portal to SophiaVerse and the rest of SingularityNET.

What makes SophiaVerse different

Plenty of games advertise AI-driven NPCs as a feature. SophiaVerse inverts it: the AI is the subject of the game, the NPCs are the point rather than the set dressing, and player activity is fed back into training an actual system outside the game. Whether that loop delivers on its ambition is a fair question, but it is a genuinely different premise from a fantasy world with a chatbot bolted on.
