Apparently, my tactics for the previous game against Kallithea didn’t work. I mean, it didn’t work at all.
If you haven’t read the previous article, I adopted a 3-5-2 formation, but my team played with a 4-3-3 formation that didn’t adhere to the playstyle.

Now, apparently, and I can only assume, this happened because I had my formation hidden. There was a prominent notice stating that I had to reveal my tactics before the match, which I didn’t do, so I can only assume that it went into auto mode as a result.
That’s a bad thing because I spend time finding the right counter-formation for that game.

2-0 the score, and there are two things for sure.
- I’m not a good manager.
- My team needs better players.
Socceverse Transfer Market
After the defeat from Kallithea, which is a better team but not that much better, it’s time to scout for players that my team’s budget allows to transfer.
In the second part of the Soccerver Review, I mentioned these players:
- Giannis Apostolakis
- Giannis Theodosoulakis
- Thiago Nuss
- Borja González
Not because they are “great” players, but because they are developed at a young age (except Gonzalez), and they might improve in the future.
Now that I’m approved and unlocked as a manager of “Serres,” it’s time to examine them one by one and see if the Heraklion team will accept any transfer for these.
Apparently, I can’t bid for any of these players, so I need to scout for free players.
First thing to do is find a good Central Back (CB) so he can pair with Emil Bergstrom (79).
My budget is not enough to get a bunch of good players, but I’ll try to get, at least, better than the ones I own, at a young age, hoping that they might evolve in the future.

I’m heading for S. Evora, the last on the image. He has a 70 Rating, and if my bid succeeds, I might be able to acquire him for $ 350,535. He’s not that great, but he’s still better than my current CB and young.
Bid sent, transaction executed. 4 days and 10 hours left.

Next, I need to find a CM, or better yet, two. The team doesn’t have a single CM, but it has three DMCs, two AMLs, and three AMRs.
It appears that there is a problem with CMs in the Transfer Market. The only player I would like to have costs 3.5 times the team’s budget, so my center will be weakened regardless of the transfer.

I decided to bid for Theo Carroll, primarily because of his young age, and Ryan Finnigan as a second choice.
I know these players are not ideal, but I’m currently in desperate need of CMs.
Next in line is the Goalkeeper, Panagiotis Katsikas (62) and Alexandros Tsompanidis (62) belong to the second division, I need someone more or close to 70.

I want to go for Rene Vanden Borre, but it appears that he is injured, judging from the ‘+’ Next to his icon, and the cost is actually almost half of my budget.
So, the French player Aknanu Toure is my chosen one, and I placed the minimum bid of 303,001 to acquire him. 3 Days and 5 hours left.
It seems I should keep an eye out to outbid anyone who wants to take these players.
So far, if my transfers are complete, I would have spent 889,919, completing 4 out of 7 allowed income transfers per season.
I believe that Samuel Almagro (70) CB will enhance my defence, along with the new goalkeeper (68). The midfielders are still an issue, for which I don’t see a viable solution at the moment, unless I consider a loan player or similar option.
I believe that’s all for my transfers at the moment. Considering the club has a balance of just over $ 5 million, there is not much I can do in terms of transfers, as most quality players will cost between $ 5 and $ 20 million.
Don’t forget that the club needs money to survive, so I can’t go on a sprint and spend everything at once.
The club’s funds are insufficient to create a team that can compete in the league. Still, with patience, the right decisions, and, obviously, an influx of managerial funds, everything can happen.
Loan Players
The situation with obtaining a loan is disappointing; the quality is significantly lower than what I’m looking for, as shown in the image below.
J. Jansen (68) would make some sense if i hadn’t any DMCs but I do, so there is no point looking at loan players or trying to get a free bench player.

Releasing Players
As I mentioned in the previous article, two players must leave the team.
Wilfrid Kaptoum (55) is now for sale for 27,403, although i don’t see anyone wanting him.
Fabrice Kah Nkowh (59) will have the same fate, for 29,396.

In addition, I put on load Stavros Vasilakos (61), at the age of 16 he has the potential to become a better player. As there is no space for him at the moment in my team, I’ll try to find a team for him to play.

Bidding Again
While I opened the game to set my tactics for todays match, I noticed I was outbid for all the players I’m after.
So it’s time to bid again. As you can see, there are 5 other teams bidding for this player, so the one who bids last (assuming we all bid the minimum) will get the player.
The countdown timer counts in seconds, so by setting a high-gas fee on the transaction (polygon chain), you can execute it probably within the last 10 seconds of the big. Not sure if I can do this for all five transfers, though.
The bid for Almami Toure started at 241.125 and is now 360.608, which is my bid.

The same applies to the rest of the players.
Theo Carrol CM, RM (64), my first bid was 118,780, and now I had to bid 252,501.
The situation for Samiuel Almagro Evor (70), CB, is much more complicated. Tosu, another team, bid 800k while my bid was 350k.
I’m not sure if it’s worth it anymore to get this player at this price point.

Ryan Finnigan (64) CM, on the other hand, received two more bids from different teams, all at the minimum bid, so I’m bidding again, this time for 153k instead of 117k.
As you can understand, other managers also bid and are willing to pay. Not every player will complete a transfer at the minimum price; there is an active community that is constantly looking for new players, especially young talents.
Searching for another CB, nothing has changed in the market since the last time I checked.
S. Evora continues to remain the best player I can get, even at an 800k price point.
There is another CB, Tomas Sarzynski (69), who, at the age of 20, has three teams bidding the minimum amount; therefore, I will also bid and keep an eye on this transfer, as it still needs three days to complete.
Next Match
My next match is against Piraeus (Olympiacos). Under normal circumstances, Piraeus should have been first and alone in the division, but it appears that the previous managers did a poor job here.
Obviously, Piraeus is a much better team than mine, so I’ll have to think outside the box again and see if I can at least get a draw from this match.

Piraeus is playing with a 3-4-1-2 formation, and their main goalkeeper, Tzolakis (82), appears to be injured, which may give my attacker, Betancor, a chance to score.
Now something unexpected happened, I was late to the party, and I can’t change my tactics.

I will be playing with a 3-5-2 formation, featuring an attacking style and a regular tempo. Let’s pray for the best.
Only if I had completed my transfers would I have had some slight hopes, but it seems that I’m going to lose this game.
