Lamina1, originally launched as an Avalanche-based blockchain, has now partnered with Linea, the zkEVM L2 blockchain developed by Consensys, in a significant move to advance its foundation vision. Among the first ventures announced in this collaboration is “Spaces”, a platform designed for interactive stories, where creators can control their intellectual property.
“Spaces” will kick off with a project titled “Artefact” by author Neal Stephenson, described as a “role-playing experience in a post-AI world”. This project is designed to engage players by having them join various factions, gather data fragments, and influence the progression of the narrative. Neal Stephenson, a cyberpunk pioneer, was one of the co-founders of Lamina1 when it was initially unveiled in 2022.
The partnership between Lamina1 and Linea is strengthened with further investments from Systematic Ventures and Joe Lubin, CEO of Consensys. Joe Lubin commented on the collaboration, “Neal Stephenson is one of the leading figures in cyberpunk. Lamina1 is now perfectly positioned to be at the forefront of the on-chain revolution in content creation.”
