Arcade Park returns to The Sandbox
Steve Aoki’s Arcade Park reopens in The Sandbox, introducing a dual-path parkour challenge. Players can choose between an easy or a hard route to reach Aoki’s pool club, the highlight of this engaging experience. Regardless of the path chosen, reaching the finish line offers a glimpse into the vibrant atmosphere Aoki has cultivated across his collaborations.
The Arcade Park is a part of The Sandbox’s broader Season 7, which launched on February 25, 2026. This season boasts 32 experiences, including collaborations with established brands and community-generated games. Aoki, a frequent collaborator, has been involved since Alpha Season 3, evolving from a Water Park experience to the recent Neon Hiroquest in Season 6.
Player choice is key
Players will find that Arcade Park emphasizes choice. The easy path provides accessibility, while the hard route tests precision and timing. Both paths culminate at Aoki’s pool club, depicted as a high-energy destination that rewards skilled players. This parkour experience was developed by the creator behind Race Maze, ensuring a real challenge for those opting for the hard path.
The Arcade Park also connects to Club XYZ, The Sandbox’s metaverse residency space, where Aoki shares the spotlight with Guy Gerber during Season 7.
Creator-focused season
This iteration of The Sandbox is notably creator-first, with independent creators behind over 50% of the season’s offerings. CEO Robby Yung acknowledged this milestone as overdue, featuring 20 community-built experiences derived from the Retro Game Jam and Future Game Jam events. These include various game formats like Metroidvania and classic arcade shooters.
Additionally, the prize pool for Season 7 is more than 650,000 SAND, roughly $52,000 at current rates. Players can unlock NFTs, exclusive content, and shares of the pool through a 25-level battle pass that includes both free and paid tracks. For the first time, select experiences can be played directly in browsers, removing installation and account creation barriers for newcomers.
Brand collaborations enhance gameplay
The season features collaborations with brands like Atari, Bruce Lee, The Terminator, and Black Mirror, adding depth to the gaming and cultural landscape within The Sandbox.
The Sandbox is a decentralized platform built on Ethereum and Polygon, enabling players to explore user-generated experiences and trade digital assets as NFTs. Its native token, SAND, facilitates transactions and rewards across the ecosystem. Aoki’s return in Season 7 continues a legacy of expanding gameplay through innovative experiences, with parkour taking center stage as players race toward the pool club.
