Origins S17 launches with new prize pool structure
The highly anticipated Origins Season 17 is now live, featuring an 80K bAXS prize pool and enhanced competitive integrity measures. Players can compete for a piece of the prize throughout the season, which is critical in maintaining the trust and legitimacy of the leaderboard.
All rewards this season will be distributed in bAXS for the first time. This non-transferable utility token is backed 1:1 by AXS and aims to deepen player commitment within the ecosystem. Players can use bAXS for breeding, ascending, evolving, and staking, but the token cannot be transferred between accounts. This setup is designed to keep value circulating and reward dedicated players.
The season breakdown includes four eras: The Rare Era commenced on April 15, followed by the Epic Era on April 28, the Mystic Era on May 12, and a Final Era on May 26, concluding on June 9. In the Rare Era alone, players can compete for 20K bAXS in rewards, and early participants have additional bonuses.
The top 2,000 players will share the overall 80K bAXS prize pool, with competitive integrity checks implemented after each era. Rewards will be distributed only once these checks are complete, ensuring that the leaderboard accurately reflects competitive performance. Axie developers are keen to enhance the quality of competition, especially following the permanent bans of 241 accounts for multi-accounting in the previous season.
Collectible Chest incentives return, also with payouts in bAXS. Players must finish the Rare Era at Tiger rank or higher while holding a collectible Axie throughout the era to earn Collectible Chests, which can be redeemed for a share of the 10,000 bAXS prize pool.
Effective immediately, multi-accounting and any form of leaderboard manipulation will lead to permanent bans, emphasizing Axie Infinity‘s commitment to competitive fairness.
