RealGo, a location-based AR game that turns meme characters into collectible onchain assets, raised over $3.5 million across its Early Investor and Strategy rounds, the project said.
Backers include Animoca Brands, Cogitent Ventures, X21 Digital, Notch Ventures and Becker Ventures, among others. The total across both rounds exceeded $3.5 million. The project did not disclose a valuation or a breakdown between rounds.
How it works
The game runs on BNB Chain and borrows heavily from the Pokémon GO template. Players use AR and location-based services to find meme characters in the real world, capture them with consumable items and build squads for PvP arena combat, boss raids and solo encounters. Over 120 meme characters are available, including pets themed around Doge, Pepe, Pudgy Penguins, BAYC and Peanut the Squirrel.
Captured characters function as onchain assets that can be traded, upgraded and monetized through an in-game marketplace and auction house. Players earn $RT, the game’s core token, through gameplay and harvesting mechanics, and can withdraw it to external wallets. Capturing specific meme characters also rewards players with the associated memecoins.
Player count and availability
RealGo reported more than 220,000 players as of Q1 2026. The game is live on both iOS and Android.
The project positions itself as what it calls a “Meme 3.0” platform, framing the idea as moving meme culture past short-lived hype cycles and into a playable economy where attention converts into tradable value. Tokenomics details are listed as “coming soon” on the project’s website.
