New season features prediction-based gameplay
The Beacon has officially launched Season 1: Goblin’s Gambit. The season, running from May 25 to June 14, features over 7.7 million $BCN allocated for player rewards.
This iteration introduces Kraken Klash, a prediction-based board game that overlays the existing dungeon mechanics, allowing for enhanced gameplay diversity. Players now have two reward paths: they can either run dungeons to earn consistent rewards from Umbra Chests, or convert Umbra Shards into Gobloonz for entries into Kraken Klash, which offers higher-risk, higher-reward scenarios.
Gameplay mechanics
Players can access the full gameplay loop for free. For those opting for Premium Access, benefits include NFT cosmetics and a larger share of the $BCN reward pool. A special set of exclusive cosmetics will be available only during this season, featuring some of the rarest items yet offered.
The difficulty for dungeon encounters will initially be lower for the first few days, with an increase in challenges as the season progresses. Zone 2 is anticipated to introduce longer and harder dungeons mid-week.
Season timeline and specific rewards
The season kicked off at 16:00 UTC on May 25 and wraps up on June 14 at 19:00 UTC. Additional content, including Zone 2, the Official Marketplace, and House Builder features, are expected to roll out during the launch week.
The season includes three types of chests: Umbra Chests (containing Umbra Shards), Kraken Chests (for Gobloonz), and Glint Chests (with Glint rewards). Free players’ cosmetics will be account-bound, while premium players will receive NFTs they fully own. Gobloonz can be obtained through Umbra Shard conversion or by purchasing them with Glint.
“The feedback from our community has been tremendous, and we’re excited to see how players will respond to these new elements,” said a spokesperson for The Beacon.
