The numbers back the claim. xStocks listed 60 assets a year ago, 150 in June and 500 in July. The catalog covers equities, ETFs and IPOs.
The 500 target came and went
Kraken set the 500-asset goal in March, when xStocks had 100 listings and said it wanted to more than quintuple the catalog by the end of 2026. The platform hit that number in July, roughly five months early.
Distribution has grown alongside the asset count. xStocks said itβs now βLive across 150+ partners with more coming.β Reporting in late July put the figure above 100 exchanges, wallets and DeFi applications.
OKX launched its own tokenized stock offering built on the xStocks framework on July 16. X Layer integrated the tokens into the OKX Wallet ecosystem with a fast-listing mechanism for high-demand stocks and thematic ETFs. 0x added support for xStocks equities and ETFs on Ethereum through its Swap API.
Arbitrum One
Arbitrum flagged the milestone in a post of its own. βStill early for tokenization,β the account said. βSince recently launching on Arbitrum One, xStocks has tokenized nearly 700 assets with $28M in value.β
Arbitrum is one of several networks carrying the tokens. xStocks issues natively on Ethereum, Solana, Arbitrum, Mantle, TON, Ink and other EVM chains. It launched Solana-first in June 2025 with roughly 60 tickers including AAPL, NVDA, TSLA and SPY.
Robinhood also issues tokenized stocks on Arbitrum One, using its own wrapper rather than a third-party issuer, and has moved that business onto an Arbitrum-based chain of its own.
Going international
The July expansion pushed xStocks past U.S. equities for the first time. Payward, Krakenβs parent, said on July 22 it was bringing shares from Hong Kong, the U.K., South Korea and other markets onchain, starting with Hong Kong listings.
GTN supplies execution and custody for the underlying assets through infrastructure spanning more than 90 markets and eight asset classes. GTN plans to offer xStocks products to its own institutional clients once licenses are in place market by market.
Payward said in July the platform had processed more than $35 billion in trading volume and had nearly 200,000 holders. Cumulative volume later passed $37 billion, including $12.5 billion traded onchain.
Background
Backed Finance built xStocks and Kraken agreed to acquire the issuer in late 2025, after tokenized securities volumes hit $10 billion, folding issuance, trading and settlement into one group.
Through Payward, xStocks has struck partnerships with Nasdaq, Franklin Templeton and Deutsche BΓΆrse Group.
The tokens trade in more than 110 countries. Residents of the U.S., U.K., Canada and Australia canβt buy them.
And they arenβt shares. xStocks are open-ended tracker certificates issued by Backed Assets (JE) Limited, a Jersey entity now inside the Kraken group, under Swiss ledger-based securities law. Each is collateralized 1:1 by the underlying stock or ETF held with a licensed custodian in a bankruptcy-remote structure. Holders get creditor rights against the issuer, not direct ownership of the stock.
