Fantasy Flight Games just told us what the next two years of Star Wars: Unlimited look like, and the headline is that the Skywalkers are coming back.
The Legacy of Skywalker set is officially on the roadmap through 2027. Details on the actual cards are thin right now, but it’s landing as a standard booster set built to cover every Skywalker across the eras.
The news came out of the game’s major championship, where the studio broadcast its Galactic Report laying out the plan. W Eric Martin reported it first.
Homeworlds comes first, and it’s the better entry point
Before any Skywalker business, there’s Star Wars: Unlimited – Homeworlds in October 2026. Chewbacca and Grand Moff Tarkin headline that one with spotlight decks.
If you’ve been circling this game without buying in, October is your window. Homeworlds reads like the capstone of this stretch of the game’s life, and Fantasy Flight said as much.
“As we head into the second half of Star Wars™: Unlimited’s third year, there is one facet of the Star Wars galaxy that has remained relatively unexplored within the game. We’ve seen epic space battles, legendary Force users, cutthroat galactic politics, and more blaster-toting, credit-chasing outlaws than you can count. What we haven’t seen that much are the vast multitude of alien worlds that make up a large part of the galaxy—as well as the myriad creatures that call them home.”

Two new tokens and a keyword that touches your base
The mechanical additions are specific: Beast and Weakness tokens, plus a new Fortify keyword. Base upgrades are the part worth watching, because that’s a piece of the board most card games leave alone.
Unlimited itself comes from Fantasy Flight Games, and it pulls the franchise’s most recognizable pieces into a trading card game that keeps getting supported. That consistency is a big part of why it’s held up as one of the better Star Wars games going, in a franchise that’s spread across so many mediums it’s genuinely hard to track all of them.
What’s happening on the film side
Star Wars: Starfighter, directed by Shawn Levy and starring Ryan Gosling, is slated for May 28, 2027. Rumors of a new trilogy keep swirling. Rey’s New Jedi Order movie has been confirmed as in development.
George Lucas started all of this in 1977. Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope, originally just titled Star Wars, set off sequels, prequels, TV shows, video games and comics. Disney bought the rights and pushed the universe onto Disney+, starting with The Mandalorian.
And now the most infamous family in the galaxy gets a booster set with their name on it.
