New player-to-player marketplace debuts
World of ClaudeCraft has rolled out version 0.40.0, featuring the WOC Exchange, a significant player-to-player marketplace. This update allows for expanded trading options, moving beyond direct trading windows. The release enhances the player economy and solidifies trading mechanisms within the game’s framework.
The Exchange includes several key features. Hidden reserve auctions enable sellers to set a minimum price unknown to bidders, encouraging more thoughtful bidding practices. Bid bonds mitigate the issue of non-serious bids by requiring a stake from bidders, enhancing auction integrity. Directed offers from the trade window streamline negotiations by allowing players to transition deals into the Exchange interface without starting over.
Additional features include buy now listings for items, which provide a fixed price alternative to auctions, and broadened trading options for cosmetic assets like mounts and chromas.
Improved performance and interactive functionality
Two other significant changes accompany the release. The introduction of guild signposts transforms noticeboards in towns into guild boards, promoting guild interaction throughout the game’s three-zone map. This reduces travel time for routine activities.
Performance upgrades are dramatic. Freeze times have been reduced from 5.6 seconds to under half a second, marking nearly a twelvefold improvement. The studio has also identified issues related to unread mail, advising players that clearing these should enhance overall performance.
Game overview and community engagement
World of ClaudeCraft is developed by Levy Street Games, with Reuben Horne as lead developer, and has been built using AI coding tools since June 2026. The project gained significant attention, evidenced by thousands of upvotes on Reddit and over 1,000 stars on GitHub.
Players can choose from nine character classes that progress from level 1 to 20, with gameplay focused on both traditional RPG elements and a handcrafted map that includes locations like Eastbrook Vale and Mirefen Marsh. Endgame content features elite dungeons and a ranked arena while characters persist on authoritative servers.
Designed for browser play, the game does not require a wallet connection. A Steam page is set up, and the team awaits final platform approval for a broader launch.
The in-game economy utilizes Claudium as the currency for non-gameplay affecting cosmetics. WOC, a community token on Solana, offers optional wallet connections that grant access to daily rewards, though it was trading at approximately 0.000108 USD, down 21.03 percent at the time of release.
Notably, the game also serves as a reinforcement learning environment for AI training, showcasing its innovative structure in more ways than one. “Everything, including the Exchange, was built in the open,” Horne said.
